Our Founder’s Journey: A Story of Resilience and Dedication

Welcome to Progressive Prints! I'm Zach Kovach, the founder of this platform where passion for democracy transforms into tangible support. Born from a decade of deep-rooted involvement in Democratic politics, Progressive Prints is my way of continuing to champion our values despite life's unexpected turns.

Early Beginnings and Political Aspirations

My political journey began in the sprawling plains of rural South Dakota, where I first dipped my toes into the waters of activism as a college student. Enthralled by the power of collective action, I quickly escalated from a member to president of my local College Democrats, eventually leading as the president of the statewide college Democrats. My commitment didn’t stop at organizational roles; driven by a calling to serve, I ran for the state house during my college years. Despite falling short by just a thousand votes, this experience only fueled my resolve to drive change.

Empowering Communities and Leading Movements

Post-college, my path took me to Maryland, where I worked as a community organizer. There, I spearheaded initiatives that weren't just campaigns but movements that empowered local communities and reshaped public policy. I'm proud to have led the coalition that legalized cannabis in Maryland and the organizing efforts that brought fair elections initiatives to Baltimore County.

My journey continued in Iowa, where I managed campaigns and directed field operations for state and national elections. Each role honed my skills in strategy, leadership, and the gritty realities of political work.

A New Challenge: Health and a Renewed Purpose

Everything changed when I was diagnosed with cancer. This new battle demanded I step back from the front lines of political campaigns to focus on recovery and family. Yet, the fire to contribute to the Democratic cause remained undiminished. Progressive Prints emerged from this crossroad—my avenue to support the party and its principles in a new capacity.
